14 DAY TRIAL // It appears that a new consumer graphics card driver is not all that NVIDIA has been working on, the company having also completed the newest version of the Quadro release, 275.36.
Graphics cards are among the most sophisticated of hardware components, so, naturally, they need special software to run properly.
As such, NVIDIA has been periodically releasing new driver packages for each series of adapters, one a monthly basis to be more exact.
The most recent version for the consumer-oriented GeForce and ION solutions is called 275.33 (WHQL-certified) and can be found here.
Now, the same company has delivered the driver for a different set of cards, those aimed at the professional market.
More specifically, NVIDIA has presented the newest installment of its Quadro graphics driver, 275.36 WHQL.
The CUDA 4.1 engine is included, so that the add-in boards might work better in GPU computing applications, while workstation compatibility fixes even further improve operation and productivity.
The package also adds support for, in Windows 7, for 10-bit grayscale screens, through DVI, something useful when using proprietary medical displays, for example.
What's more, an ODE driver is installed, as are new APIs and some updates to the NVIDIA Control panel.
Compatibility-wise, the software has components for not just Quadro adapters, but also the Quadro FX series, Qadro NVS series models, Quadro Plex controllers, Quadro G-Sync and M-Class processors, plus Quadro Blade/Embedded Graphics Board series.
All in all, professional running desktops or mobile computers equipped with an NVIDIA professional graphics solution shouldn't have to bother wondering whether they should install this new driver or not.
