With NVIDIA's new monster of a graphics card out in the open, it only makes sense that the company would deliver a new driver with support for it and, sure enough, the Graphics Driver v267.85 has been officially released.

Normally, a new driver for any sort of hardware component involves updates, new features, bug fixes, performance optimizations and overall betterment.

For graphics adapters, this holds true in most cases, as both NVIDIA and Advanced Micro Devices often unleash new driver releases that boost frame rates in games, among many other things.

This once, however, while the Santa Clara, California-based GPU maker did unveil a new version of the GeForce driver software, there weren't really many additions.

The only real purpose of driver v267.85 is to add support for the newest adapter that NVIDIA unveiled, the GTX 590.

To say that the GTX 590 is a high-end card would, in itself, be an understatement, what with it being a monstrously powerful dual-chip product.

In fact, this is the one DirectX 11-capable NVIDIA multi-chip video board whose coming consumers have been waiting for for months.

We've already covered the launch in a recent article, but for those that want a quick rundown, it features two GF110 processors, each with a frequency of 607 MHz, plus 3 GB of GDDR5 VRAM that works at 1,707 MHz.

The memory interface is of no less than 768 bits (384 bits for each GPU), while multiple display outputs allow it to use three 3D screens simultaneously, courtesy of the 3D Vision Surround technology.

All in all, it is now facing off the Radeon HD 6990, even though reviews have been saying it is slower, albeit more silent.

Either way, those select few who can afford one of these beasts need only visit one of the links below for the appropriate driver.
