Consumer graphics drivers pay special mind to game performance, and NVIDIA actually focused on a very specific title when it developed the latest driver for its GeForce series of adapters.

It must be that time of the month because NVIDIA released a new driver for its series of GeForce consumer adapters, among others.

The new package may not have WHQL approval (yet), being just a BETA for now, but this doesn't mean it doesn't bring real benefits.

In fact, gamers will definitely have a reason to get this newest package, especially if they like a certain title called Battlefield 3.

Indeed, when it put the software together, NVIDIA optimized it particularly well for this game, enabling a performance boost of up to 38%.

The performance was measured on a system running GeForce GTX 570 at 2650 x 1600 (DirectX 11 mode) and was compared against driver 285.27.

In addition to the above, players of Battlefield 3 should experience higher stability and image quality as well.

Of course, optimizations to one game aren't all that the driver has to offer, as NVIDIA also made sure to address the performance regression that Crysis 2 suffered in DirectX 9 mode on the 285.27 driver.

One should also find updated SLI profiles for Battlefield 3, Dragon Ag 2, Diablo III, Saints Row: The Third and Need of Speed: The Run.

Other details include PhysX version 9.11.06.21, HD Audio driver version 1.2.24.0, OpenCL 4.2 (for GeForce 400 and 500 cards).

Furthermore, NVIDIA System Tools software allows for GPU overclocking at temperature monitoring.

Users with a GeForce 6 through 500 cards, or ION desktop graphics, need only download the appropriate package from one of the links below.
