14 DAY TRIAL // NVIDIA has been making the headlines recently, as the company's partners have just announced the introduction of their latest GeForce cards, based on the G215 graphics processing unit, or the GeForce GT 240. Coming to support its partners' new cards, the Santa Clara, California-based graphics chip maker has just rolled out a new Beta version of its GeForce/ION drivers, adding support for the aforementioned card and a number of new features, including GPU-acceleration for the new Adobe Flash 10.1 beta.
Although still in its beta form, the new GeForce beta release delivers a couple of interesting new features, such as support for the new Adobe Flash Player 10.1 Beta and the new GeForce GT240 graphics card, aimed at the mainstream segment. In addition, according to the release notes, the new drivers add support for OpenCL 1.0 for all of the GeForce 8-series and later GPUs, support for CUDA Toolkit 3.0, SLI-support for new gaming titles such as Borderlands, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, FIFA Soccer 10, and more.
As with all other new drive packages, NVIDIA claims that this release also offers numerous bug fixes, including some that will improve performance in the Need for Speed: Shift gaming title. The GeForce 195.55 Driver release will be submited for WHQL certification and will include support for all GeForce 6, 7, 8, 9, 100 and 200-series desktop GPUs, as well as the company's ION GPU platform.
