Mozilla has released the 10th beta in the Firefox 4.0 development cycle, this time focusing on Mac-specific compatibility and stability. The new release is immediately available for download.

As fans of the popular web browser should well know, Firefox 4 Beta is based on the Gecko 2.0 Web platform.

Recent beta releases of Firefox 4 have been considered to be stable and safe to use for daily web browsing. However, the features and content are always subject to change before the final product release, Mozilla notes.

As usual, add-ons that haven’t been tested by their authors against this release may not work, therefore those who wish to help test Add-on compatibility are encouraged to install the Add-on Compatibility Reporter.

“If you wish to help test Add-on compatibility, please install the Add-on Compatibility Reporter - your favorite Add-on author will appreciate it!” Mozilla writes.

According to the changelog for this new beta release of Firefox 4.0, Mozilla developers have managed to improve the browser’s stability when using Adobe Flash on Mac OS X.

Compatibility issues have also been addressed, according to the release notes.

Additionally, Mozilla lists improvements in memory usage, and improved stability by adding support for a graphics driver blacklist.

The changes from previous Firefox 4 betas are also included in this release.
