Users warned of the Christmas downloads

Christmas is almost here and most users go online for shopping, looking for gifts for their family and friends. Moreover, Christmas automatically means holiday and free time for people all around the world. But let's admit, many of you will spend an important part of your holiday online, downloading movies and games, just to relax and enjoy the Christmas spirit. The only problem is that some of the users have that limited download clause mentioned in their contracts, which doesn't allow them to download as many movies and games as they want. With lots of consumers to go online on Christmas day, the companies started warning them about the risk of exceeding the download limit.

"With more of us downloading music and games during the Christmas period, consumers need to be aware of how much they are downloading", Michael Phillips, product director of BroadbandChoices.co.uk said according to Web User News. "Most companies who sell an 'unlimited' service also have a 'fair usage policy', which imposes limits on a user's downloading."

And don't be too surprised if the Christmas day comes with slow Internet and increased loading times. Since more and more users will go online, many of them looking to download large files through P2P file sharing technologies, the rest of the consumers who are just browsing the web might encounter a slow connection and increased loading times when visiting websites. However, don't forget to check the file size of your downloads, because reaching the download limit (in case you got one) may leave you without an Internet connection on Christmas.

"If you are only checking emails, surfing the web and shopping online then we would advise customers to switch to a 'light user' package since they will only be using a couple of gigabytes of data in a month and don't need to over-spend on luxury unlimited packages", Michael Phillips added for the same source mentioned above.
