Intel's newest version of the SSD Toolbox is out and ready to serve, so people who have one of the company's storage units may want to drop by the official download page.

The 3.0 version brings a number of benefits, not the least of which is the ability to update the device firmware without needing to go into DOS.

Normally, upgrading a firmware would imply restarting the PC in DOS mode and then fuss about with typed commands, but Intel's SSD Toolbox makes it possible to do this directly from Windows.

The software also has other features, like diagnostics, used/unused capacity pie charts, SMART, Estimated Life Remaining and Drive health bars, etc.

The toolbox also adds support for 11 languages, in addition to the ones of before.
