With the expansion of the number of languages supported by Internet Explorer 9 to no less than 93, Microsoft has also made available for download Language Packs designed to make it as easy as possible for users to run a variant of the browser tailored to their native tongue. Customers can head to the Microsoft Download Center and grab Internet Explorer 9 Language Packs for Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 as well as Internet Explorer 9 Language Packs for Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008.

Both packages of IE9 languages are offered for download free of charge, as is the case for the browser.

“You can install localized versions of IE9 in a language that matches your version of Windows or choose to install the English version of IE9, which works with all versions of Windows Vista and Windows 7,” revealed Vishwac Sena Kannan and Kevin Luu, Program Managers, Internet Explorer.

“Users on multi-lingual versions of Windows or users who have already installed IE9 English or one of the previously supported languages can install a language pack to experience IE9 in one of the new languages released today.”

At this point in time, IE9 offers the most comprehensive linguistic support out of any browser on the market.

Designed to play nice with 93 different languages, IE9 bested Firefox with support for 86 languages, Chrome 11 with 45, Opera 11 with 44, and Safari 5 with 16.
