An updated version of the HERE Explore Beta application is now available for download for Windows Phone 8 devices out there, namely version 0.9.2088.0.

The new app release arrives with various bug fixes packed inside, and should be able to provide users with a better experience than before.

HERE Explore Beta was designed to help users in their attempts to find new places to visit, and makes use of a new contextual recommendation engine.

“Find a late night snack, a scenic vista point, or a selection of interesting places around you. HERE Explore Beta recommends places to go based on your location, the quality of places, and the time of day,” the application’s description reads.

“Search and discover places to eat, stay, or sightsee and save these to your own private collections. And when you're ready to go, just hold up your phone and see your destination revealed by a floating sign.”

The application will deliver recommendations based on the places that users have already visited and on what they would like to see.

A customizable list of categories enables users to easily search for places around them. Various personalization options have been included in the app as well, enabling them to make favorite searches even quicker to access.

Furthermore, the software allows users to see search results displayed in a list, on a map, or in LiveSight, and also enables them to easily add photos and reviews to the places they have already visited.

There is also one-tap access to more place information included in the app, such as photos, reviews, and contact information, along with drive, walk and public transport directions to a place.

With HERE Explore Beta installed, users can also hold up their smartphones to see floating signs that show them where places are located. Not to mention that places can be added to one’s private collection, so that they can be easily accessible.

At the moment, the application is supported only in six countries, namely the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Germany, Austria and France.

Windows Phone 8 users can find the HERE Explore Beta application listed on Softpedia as well.
