14 DAY TRIAL // A new flavor of the Google Keep application is now available for download for the owners of Android-based devices, namely version 2.0.35.
The new application release arrives with an appealing new feature packed inside, namely time and location-based reminders, powered by Google Now.
To take advantage of the new feature, users will have to click on the “Remind me” button at the bottom of any note, and then select the type of reminders they want to receive.
“You can add time-based reminders for a specific date and time, or a more general time of day, like tomorrow morning. Adding a location reminder is incredibly easy too—as soon as you start typing Google Keep suggests places nearby,” Google notes in a blog post.
Users will also be able to snooze a reminder on their Android devices, if they are not able to deal with it when it rings. They will have the option to choose a new time and place for it.
The updated Google Keep application for Android also provides users with a single view for all the incoming reminders, while also offering support for fast switching of accounts.
“It’s now even easier to get to all of your notes using the new navigation drawer, which includes a way to view all of your upcoming reminders in one place. And for people who want more separation between their home and work lives, the drawer also lets you easily switch between your accounts,” Google notes.
“And finally, we've made it easier to add your existing photos to a Google Keep note on Android. When you tap the camera icon you can choose between taking a new photo or adding one you already have from Gallery.”
The new software release is already rolling out to Android users out there through the Google Play Store, though it might take a while before it becomes available to all of them.
However, the guys over at Android Police have managed to snag the app’s .APK, which is now available for download below for all devices running under Android Ice Cream Sandwich or above.
