Google launched three new Chrome versions this week, releases designed for testing and respectively for use into production.

Early adopters testing the Mountain View-based search giant’s open source browser should have a look at the new Chrome 15.0.874.21 which went live yesterday.

Available for Windows, Mac OS X and Linux Google Chrome 15.0.874.21 is somewhat of a standard update pushed through the Dev Channel.

The latest release introduces a number of fixes which will contribute to improving the stability of the browser.

Google also “fixed a bug that caused a crash if you tried to use the speech input keystroke (Ctrl+Shift+Period) on a (non-speech-enabled) textarea,” revealed Dharani Govindan, from the Google Chrome team.

Work done to enhance reliability is a constant for Google, and is illustrative of the company’s efforts to get a specific browser version ready for release or for the next stage of development.

As far as Chrome 15 is concerned, it will graduate from the Dev Channel into Beta, and only then will make its way to end users worldwide.

The time for Chrome 15 Beta hasn’t come yet, but users need to keep their eyes on this space and I’ll make sure to provide an update when that happens.

Just ahead of the release of Chrome 15.0.874.21 Dev, Chrome 14.0.835.186 Beta and Chrome 14.0.835.186 Stable also became available for download.

According to Google, Build 14.0.835.186 was considered necessary in order to patch a zero-day (0-day) vulnerability in Adobe Flash, since the plug-in is included by default into the browser.

In addition to providing Chrome 14.0.835.186 Beta and Stable for Windows, Mac OS X and Linux, version 14.0.835.186 (Platform version 0.14.811.117) is also available for Chromebooks (Acer AC700, Samsung Series 5, and Cr-48). Chromebooks users can get either Chrome 14.0.835.186 Beta or Stable as well.
