Chrome is getting a new multi-profile UI on Macintosh systems, according to the latest word from Dharani Govindan, of the Google Chrome development team.

The Google staffer blogs that “The Dev channel has been updated to 15.0.854.0 for Mac, Linux, and Chrome Frame. Windows will be updated soon,” he says.

All supported platforms get the updated V8 to version 3.5.5.0 as well as fixed uninstalls for forced install extensions. Many known stability issues have been resolved as well.

For Mac users in particular, there’s the aforementioned new multi-profile UI and fixed bookmark menu translations.

Linux users are being treated to a fixed import success message when the user cancels the import.

Since it’s a developer build, Chrome 15.0.854.0 has issues too, such as the inability to close tabs in some situations on Linux.

As usual, further details about the latest release of Chrome can be found in the SVN revision log.

Development is progressing well for Macintosh users in particular, as Chrome technicians are doing everything in their power to support some of the native features of Apple’s OS X Lion, including Full Screen mode, Resume and others.

On the Beta channel, Chrome 14.0.835.35 is available for download containing a number of new features and functions, including: initial release of Native Client; Web Audio API; Sync Encryption for all data; Experimental Web Request extension API; and Experimental Content Settings extension API.

The Mac build has the Print Preview fully enabled. According to the latest note from Chrome’s program managers, additional Mac OS X Lion feature support has been implemented in the Beta version of the browser.

Chrome calls for 100MB of free space, 128MB of RAM and an Intel processor to run on Macs.
