Google is pushing a new Chrome update through the Dev Channel, but it appears that early adopters will have to wait a tad longer to get their hands on the first preview of Chrome 15.0. What the Mountain View-based search giant is offering now is Chrome 14.0.835.29 Dev, yet another Dev release of v14.0.

As usual, testers running Windows, Linux and Mac OSX can go ahead and download the new Google Chrome 14.0.835.29 Dev and start playing around with it.

But as was the case for the past few Dev Channel updates, Chrome 14.0.835.29 Dev brings nothing new to the table in terms of features, functionality, capabilities, etc.

There are in fact no major changes whatsoever to talk about. Instead, Google notes that Chrome 14.0.835.29 Dev contains fixes for a number of issues, but the Mountain View-based company has not highlighted any problems.

Still, Google has been hammering at Chrome 14.0 for quite a while now, and as early adopters following closely the evolution of the browser must know, this is a clear indication that the company is preparing v14.0 for the next stage.

With Chrome 13.0 Stable shipping to end users as of last week, Google is gearing up to release the first Chrome 14.0 Beta. This is why the search giant is now focusing on resolving any bugs in the Dev Channel version of the browser, preparing the first Chrome 14.0 Beta.

And just as Chrome 14.0 will hit Beta, so will Chromium 15 graduate to the Dev Channel and become Chrome 15.0 Dev. It won’t be long now, but there’s really no telling when Chrome 14.0 Beta and Chrome 15.0 Dev will be offered to early adopters for testing.

Concomitantly with the availability of Chrome 14.0.835.29 Dev, Chrome 14.0.835.25 (Platform version: 811.26) is served through the Dev Channel for testers with the following Chromebooks: Acer AC700, Samsung Series 5, and Cr-48.
