Just a few days after it offered early adopters the first taste of Chrome 12.0, Google released another Beta development milestone of version 11.0 of its open source browser. Google Chrome 11.0.696.25 is now available for download through the Beta channel, offering early adopter running Windows, Mac OS X and Linux the chance to run a more reliable release than the previous Beta.

According to the Mountain View-based search giant, the focus with Chrome 11.0.696.25 Beta was on softening some of the rough edges that impacted the user experience.

Chrome 11.0.696.25 Beta will not only crash less, but in addition to increased stability, testers should notice less errors, and enhanced reliability, in regards to memory usage.

There are no new enhancements from the previous Beta of Chrome, Build 11.0.696.16. But testers that missed that release, can now try out the changes introduced earlier this month.

In addition to the redesigned Chrome logo, Chrome 11.0 Beta also features support for the HTML5 speech input application programing interface (API) and GPU-accelerated 3D CSS.

Of course, those testers that like to live on the bleeding edge can skip the Beta of Chrome 11.0 altogether and go straight to Chrome 12.0.

Chrome 12.0.712.0 is available for download through the Dev Channel, offering Windows testers the chance to try out the new Tab management capabilities that Google has worked on.

It’s obvious from the work done by the Mountain View-search giant’s rival browser vendors that an increased focus on tab management was required.

Chrome 12.0.712.0 Dev introduces Tab Multi-Select, a new feature designed to enable users to select multiple tabs and to control multiple items by issuing a single command.

Of course, users that are not familiar with the risks implied by testing pre-release software should only run version 10.0 of Chrome.
