14 DAY TRIAL // Microsoft has updated the content offered through the Windows Personalization Gallery and is now providing customers running its latest Windows client with new themes. The Wolves themepack is one of the fresh customization releases from the Redmond company, bringing to the table a collection of 11 beautiful images, featuring wolves, as you might have guessed. In this manner, the software giant has added yet another fauna related theme to the Animals section of its Windows Personalization Gallery for Windows 7.
As is the case for all the content featured on the gallery, the Wolves themepack is available for download free of charge. There are additional themes featuring animals, offered by the Redmond company, however the focus so far has been on pets rather than wildlife. With one exception. In order to celebrate the Chinese Year of the Tiger, Microsoft released a theme sporting the wild felines. Otherwise, animal lovers will have to settle for a few themes with cats and dogs imagery.
Themepack files can be dealt with in the same manner as archives in order to extract their contents. While Windows 7 users only need to execute the file having saved them locally, customers running other operating system that still want to enjoy the wallpapers will have to extract the backgrounds using an archiver. At the same time, they will need to set each backgrounds desktop manually.
In addition to the new Wolves theme for Windows 7, Microsoft also made available for download a new theme with content from NASA earlier this week. I included a number of downloads below, as the company is offering some superb themes for Windows Vista’s successor. I’ll bet that in time, users even forgot about DreamScene, a failed attempt from the software giant to overhaul desktop wallpapers for Windows Vista with the introduction of video backgrounds.
