14 DAY TRIAL // Less than two months after it provided Windows 7 users with the previous theme inspired by an animated movie, Microsoft has updated the Windows Personalization Gallery with the Rio theme pack.
Rio is scheduled to hit theaters in a couple of weeks, but customers running Windows 7 can already get a taste right on their desktops.
The Rio theme is available for download under the branded themes section of the Windows Personalization Gallery, free of charge.
Branded themes are made possible by Microsoft Advertising which allows companies to leverage the screen real estate space of Windows 7 PCs around the world to warm up to consumers.
“Spread your wings and fly! Download images from Rio, an animated movie from the creators of Ice Age that follows the adventures of a pet Macaw, in this free Windows 7 theme,” reads the official description provided by Microsoft.
There are no less than six wallpapers packed in the Rio theme, featuring content from the movie that is guaranteed to delight both parents and children (of all ages.)
Back in February, the software giant made available for download the Windows 7 Rango theme, also just ahead of the animated movie being released in cinemas worldwide.
Of course, Rio and Rango are only two of the branded theme packs that can be found on the Windows Personalization Gallery.
Windows 7 users can also download the themes for Shrek Forever After and Megamind, two name another two animated movies in addition to the ones released in 2011.
And when it comes to movie themes, the Windows Personalization Gallery is also offering theme packs for Narnia: Dawn Treader, Harry Potter and Avatar.
All the themes mentioned above continue to be available free of charge and can be installed seamlessly into Windows 7.
