14 DAY TRIAL // Customers just getting started with Visual Studio LightSwitch 2011 RTM can now download a new resource from Microsoft designed to streamline their use of the tool. At the same time, developers looking to build on top of the first release of Visual Studio LightSwitch, can also turn to the same kit from Microsoft for guidance.
Visual Studio LightSwitch 2011 was released to manufacturing earlier this week, when the software giant also made the bits available for download to MSDN subscribers and to customers interested in running a trial of the new VS edition.
With Visual Studio LightSwitch 2011 RTM becoming generally available on July 28th, 2011, Microsoft also launched the Visual Studio LightSwitch 2011 RTM Training Kit.
Available as a free download through the Microsoft Download Center, Visual Studio LightSwitch 2011 RTM Training Kit can help out IT pros and devs looking to make the best out of LightSwitch right for the start.
“The Visual Studio LightSwitch Training Kit contains demos and labs to help you learn to use and extend LightSwitch. The introductory materials walk you through the Visual Studio LightSwitch product. By following the hands-on labs, you'll build an application to inventory a library of books,” Microsoft said.
“The more advanced materials will show developers how they can extend LightSwitch to make components available to the LightSwitch developer. In the advanced hands-on labs, you will build and package an extension that can be reused by the Visual Studio LightSwitch end user.”
As previously noted, Microsoft is also offering a free trial edition of Visual Studio LightSwitch 2011 RTM, also via the Download Center.
It might prove to be a good idea for customers to download the free Visual Studio LightSwitch 2011 RTM trial along with the training kit and see what the new development offering from Microsoft has to offer.
