14 DAY TRIAL // Concomitantly with the general availability deadline of Office 2010, Microsoft also started offering free copies of the productivity suite for download. Trial versions of Office 2010 RTM continue to be available for download even at this point in time. And the Redmond company is adding even more downloads to the list. While initially customers could only download and test trial versions of bundles such as Office Home and Business 2010, Office Home and Student 2010 and Office Professional 2010, the software giant is now also offering free tastes of the standalone components making up the various suites.
Microsoft is currently allowing end users to download and try out Office Access 2010, Office PowerPoint 2010, Visio Professional 2010, Office Outlook 2010, Project Professional 2010, Office Publisher 2010, and Office OneNote 2010. All the office 2010 components mentioned above are up for grabs free of charge from the Redmond company, as trial downloads.
As you might have noticed there are two components that are missing from the list, namely Word 2010 and Excel 2010. Customers that will want to take the latest iterations of Word and Excel out for a spin will need to download and install one of the suites provided by the software giant. The remaining components are offered as standalone downloads.
However, all of the Office 2010 components can also be purchased as standalone applications, and this time around, both Word 2010 and Excel 2010 are included. But fact is that customers are better off buying one of the bundles put together by Microsoft, as they are guaranteed to get a much better deal compared to purchasing all the components separately.
