AppReview, LLC is a company that specializes in downloading and reviewing iPhone apps, so that you can just visit the its website and know what are the best ones to download. Recently, AppReview has released its own iPhone app, which, just like the AppReview site, offers “a trusted, independent opinion on which apps we have evaluated, and ranked compared to other apps.” The company highlights what it thinks are the BEST applications and lets you know.

According to the app's makers, the newly approved application, called AppReview, can help both regular iPhone users, as well as developers. The free-of-charge app provides a trusted, independent opinion on evaluated apps, and general app recommendations from iPhone / iPod Touch users. It highlights those best suited to your specific profile, and an option to directly connect to the App Store, for immediate download.

“It doesn’t take much imagination to see the problem that iPhone and iPod Touch users and even app developers are now experiencing,” Curtis Tirrell, AppReview CEO, says. “I cannot anticipate that any user could realistically evaluate 30,000 apps today, much less 100,000 by the end of the year. Customers need a tool that will help them filter their search to the best, right app.”

“At AppReview, we have purchased and/or downloaded thousands of available applications and reviewed them with a team of specialists. And the list grows every day,” the company also states.

The App Comparison feature seems quite the reason to get this otherwise free app. As the developer explains (also revealing its fondness of capital letters), “In this phase, an application is rigorously tested to determine how it performs relative to others in the same subcategory. This process produces an independent analysis that suggests which apps offer the BEST solution as-well as those which are BETTER than most, and even the apps that offer GOOD value.”

AppReview claims to have completed this process for more than half of the existing (approved) iPhone and iPod touch applications. The iPhone app is compatible with iPhone and iPod touch and requires the Software Update version 2.2.
