14 DAY TRIAL // New themes always represent a great way of adding some more personalization to your Windows 7 PC, especially when there are a lot of desktop backgrounds to enjoy.
Two recently released themes from Microsoft fall into this category, bringing to your desktop a variety of images to color up your lives.
We’re referring here to Flora and Terra, two dynamic themes that are now available for download for Windows 7 computers (they can be used on desktops running under Windows 8 as well).
After downloading and installing Flora Dynamic, users will benefit from a variety of images coming from the Windows community, ranging from dew-drenched leaves to grains and other aspects of the beautifully colored plant kingdom.
Just as with any other dynamic theme from Microsoft, new images are being delivered to users’ desktops courtesy of integrated RSS feed.
“Vivid blossoms, dew-drenched leaves, and the elegant symmetry of grains are included in these images contributed by the Windows community. Enjoy the life and color of the plant kingdom on your desktop with this free Flora theme for Windows 7,” Microsoft explains.
Similarly, the Terra Dynamic theme seems meant to bring a large portion of Nature’s wonders straight to the desktop in front of your eyes.
“Exquisite and sometimes haunting landscapes from around the globe are showcased in this free Windows 7 theme. Explore caves, waterfalls, desert, meadows, and beaches through the lens of our community of contributors,” Microsoft notes.
New backgrounds are being automatically added to the desktop through the aforementioned RSS feed, and those who like nature should no longer be concerned on how to find new photos to set as desktop backgrounds. These dynamic themes will do that for them.
Both these themes are available for download for free on Windows 7 PCs and are easy to install, since Windows will recognize them as theme files and will know what to do with them right away.
Microsoft notes that the Flora and Terra Dynamic themes are meant to work with Windows 7 Home Premium, Professional, Enterprise, and Ultimate editions (I was able to install many of them on Windows 8 Developer Preview as well).
