While waiting for the fully fledged Release Candidate of Firefox 3.5, the next iteration of Mozilla's open-source browser, codenamed Shiretoko, users have the option to update to the latest build of the stable version, namely 3.0.11. Mozilla has yet to announce officially the availability of Firefox 3.0.11, but the bits are already up for grabs at the time of writing. Simply use the links at the bottom of this article in order to grab the most recent stability and security update for Firefox 3.0.

Mozilla confirmed on June 10, 2009 that June 11 would be the delivery deadline for Firefox 3.0.11. The successor of the current update is planned for availability next month, with the release targeted for mid-July. But the fact of the matter is that Firefox 3.0.11 should have already made its way to end users. On June 3rd, Mozilla came across a regression issue and had to postpone availability. Even at that time the company pointed to Thursday this week for the launch of Firefox 3.0.11.

In parallel with updating Firefox 3.0, Mozilla is also focusing its development efforts on its successor, formerly dubbed Firefox 3.1. With the version number bumped, Firefox 3.5 has made it all the way to pre-RC Preview stage. Earlier this week, Mozilla offered for download a Preview of Firefox served as an automatic update to in excess of 800,000 users of the Beta 4 version of the release.

However, the fully fledged Release Candidate for Firefox 3.5 is still in the distance. Mozilla estimated that it could take it as much as two weeks to deliver Firefox 3.5 RC, but did not point to a specific availability date. Of course, Firefox 3.5 Preview is not only delivered as an update, but also as a standalone download.
