Companies looking to make the latest release of Exchange Server talk in an additional language on top of English can now access specific resources from Microsoft. The Redmond-based company has started offering not only pre-recorded prompts but also text to speech data tailored to all the languages supported by Exchange unified messaging since last week. In this regard, customers can now grab Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 Service Pack 2 Unified Messaging Language Packs straight from the Microsoft Download Center.

“Use unified messaging language packs to allow the Exchange Server 2007 system to speak additional languages to callers. This download contains pre-recorded prompts, for example "Welcome, you are connected to Microsoft Exchange" in the language specified by this download. It also enables text to speech translation such that content (e-mail, calendar, contact information, etc.) can be read to the caller in the language of the Unified Messaging language pack,” Microsoft informed.

The software giant is offering a couple of Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 Service Pack 2 Unified Messaging Language Packs. The downloads are designed to integrate with both the 32-bit (x86) and 64-bit (x64) variants of Exchange Server 2007 SP2. Of course, the Language Packs are designed as add-ins for the server, and set up to integrate seamlessly with Exchange Server 2007 SP2 Unified Messaging.

The Exchange Server 2007 SP2 Unified Messaging Language Packs add support for a variety of languages, including: Dutch, English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Norwegian, Chinese, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, and Swedish. Microsoft underlined that customers must only pair the language packs with the specific release of Exchange Server they are designed for. In this regard, Exchange Server 2007 SP2 Unified Messaging Language Packs must only be used on Exchange Server 2007 SP2, and not on the Service Pack 1 release, or Exchange Server 2010 Beta or Release Candidate.
