Following the release of a beta flavor of the software solution earlier this week, a new version of Dropbox for Android was made available for download in the Android Market, namely Dropbox for Android Build 1.0.2. “There is a new version of the Android app on the Market. Please let us know how it works for you,” Dropbox announced via a new post on their blog.

Those mobile phone users who own a device running under Google mobile operating system and who are fond of Dropbox would find the solution available for download via the Android Market.

However, in case there are some who cannot access the software portal, they will find a download link for the application at the bottom of this article.

“This should fix the repeated upload issues people have been having. If you have been experiencing this repeated upload problem, we recommend that you unlink your account from the Settings page, install the new version, and log in again,” the development team notes.

According to them, there are some pretty appealing enhancements included in the new Dropbox for Android Build 1.0.2 release, such as more logging, offline viewing of downloaded files, and more.

The release notes for the application include:

- Visual & Manifest changes to support low-end small-screen phones such as the Motorola Charm, as well as tablets such as the Archos. - Added more logging, and a button to e-mail a log to Dropbox, for debugging - Check to make sure that uploads aren't larger than 300MB (server-side API limit) - Proper handling & escaping of all special characters in file names - Offline viewing of downloaded files should work again. - Various stability improvements. - If system clock is wrong, lets user know the reason for not being able to log in.

At the same time, the new release comes with some bug and stability fixes, such as an issue with edited files, which were re-uploaded every time the directory was browsed (“though may still show up a single time for each file, when you first use the app,” the changelog reads).

Dropbox for Android 1.0.2 is available for download from Softpedia too, via this link.
