Dragon Age 2 is getting released today so BioWare decided to deliver a high resolution texture pack for PC users that want their game to look the best.

Dragon Age 2 is set to really polish up the graphics and mechanics of the first game, Dragon Age: Origins, and the PC will once more be the platform that receives the most care.

If you want to really push the new role playing game to its limits, then BioWare has launched a very special pack with high resolution textures for the title, enabling the 'Very High' setting.

"This will add the option to enable higher detail replacements for most textures in game. A big difference will be noticed on level art especially," BioWare said on its website.

Do bear in mind that if you want to take advantage of the better textures, then you need a graphics card with at least 1024MB memory and capable of running games in DirectX 11.

The high res textures pack, which weighs in at 1.08GB, will automatically install the bigger files into the game's own folder.

It doesn't matter if you have the game bought on disc or on digital distribution service like Steam, Direct2Drive or the EA Store.

After that, you just need to run Dragon Age 2, enter the options menu, select video and then check the Hi-resolution textures.

BioWare advises to upgrade your graphics drivers and only use the high resolution textures if you're sure your computer can run the demanding game.

In case you forgot, these are the recommended settings for Dragon Age 2 on the PC.

OS: Intel Core 2 Quad 2.4 GHz Processor or equivalent; AMD Phenom II X3 Triple core 2.8GHz or Equivalent Memory: 2Gb (4 GB Vista and Windows 7) Video: ATI 3850 512MB or Greater; NVIDIA 8800GTS 512MB or Greater; DirectX 11: ATI 5850 or Greater; NVIDIA 460 or Greater
