Don’t make any plans for the next two days if you’re a Diablo fan who is anxiously anticipating the full game’s debut next month. According to Blizzard, you’re in for a “heck” of a weekend.

Blizz is spreading the word that both Mac and Windows gamers are now free to download, install, and play the beta version of Diablo III on their computers.

Featuring the first 13 levels in the game, the Diablo III beta offers open access to all players with a valid Battle.net account.

“Beginning this Friday everyone is invited to log in and help us put the game and servers through their paces in this three day stress test as we march toward the game's release on May 15. You can begin downloading the Diablo III client right now!”, says Blizzard.

In case you’re already sold on the news, here’s your download link for the Mac client.

Blizzard makes it clear for everyone that from Friday, April 20 at 12:01 p.m. PDT (noon) ‘till Monday, April 23 at 10:00 a.m. PDT, Diablo fans will be able to “log in, team up with friends, and play each of the five heroic classes to level 13 as you fight to save the world from the impending demonic invasion.”

An extensive FAQ is provided on the Battle.net forums for everyone looking to have their questions answered.

We’ll save you the trouble of searching for the Mac system requirements in there (because they’re “conveniently” placed elsewhere on the Battle.net site).

Mac gamers will require Mac OS X 10.6.8 (Snow Leopard), or OS X 10.7.x (Lion), an Intel Core 2 Duo processor, NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT or ATI Radeon HD 2600 or better for graphics, 2GB of RAM, around 12GB of available hard-disk space, a broadband Internet connection, and a minimum display resolution of 1024 x 768.
