Developed by Eidos Montreal and ported to Macs by Feral Interactive, Deus Ex: Human Revolution – Director's Cut for OS X is now available for download through Steam at the very attractive price point of €19.99 ($27.60).

Players take the role of Adam Jensen, a former SWAT specialist who has been assigned a very important mission: “oversee the defensive needs of one of America's most experimental biotechnology firms.”

In a divided near-future, “Your job is to safeguard company secrets, but when a black ops team breaks in and kills the very scientists you were hired to protect, everything you thought you knew about your job changes,” reads the plot.

The action role-playing game is set in a time of great technological advancement, but also one where conspiracy is at its peak.

“Mechanical augmentations of the human body have divided society between those who can afford them, and those who can’t. Opposing forces conspire from the shadow to control the destiny of mankind: a human revolution is coming,” reads the description.

Players are promised a mix of action and role play, including close-quarters takedowns and shooting, character augmentations, upgrades to the character’s stealth, hacking and combat skills, etc. The player gets to choose a style and write history the way they want to.

“Find more ways to defeat the new and improved Boss Fights, use the Newgame+ feature to replay the story with your previously acquired augmentations,” says Eidos.
