Aspyr Media has confirmed the release of the Annihilation & Escalation content pack for Call of Duty: Black Ops fans doing their gaming on OS X. The DLC includes a total of eight new multiplayer maps and two new zombie levels.

Available in the Mac Games Store and through Apple’s own Mac App Store, Call of Duty: Black Ops Annihilation & Escalation DLC is an in-app purchase that delivers Hangar 18, Drive-In, Silo, Hazard, Hotel, Convoy, Zoo, and Stockpile as the latest maps in which players can duke it out.

“Call of the Dead” and “Shangri-La” are two new levels where you can set out to play as “a zombie-killing dream-team against a new and unnerving zombie menace,” or slay a new undead species in a legendary shrine lost in an exotic jungle.

System requirements include Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz, 4 GB RAM, (ATI) Radeon HD 3870 and 512 MB VRAM.

MacBook Pro users with NVIDIA 650M graphics chips are now supported with the latest updates from Apple.

In order to do multiplayer, users are required to upgrade to version 1.16 of Call of Duty: Black Ops. Aspyr assures gamers that they will not lose their multiplayer stats when upgrading.

According to the publishers, “Call of Duty: Black Ops for the Mac takes players to conflicts across the globe as elite Black Ops forces fight in the deniable operations and secret wars that occurred under the veil of the Cold War.”

The First Strike DLC is included with the game in the Mac App Store. Players get five additional diverse maps, including four new multiplayer maps “and a chilling new Zombie experience.”

“Call of Duty: Black Ops features an epic single-player campaign, an incredibly deep Mac-to-Mac multiplayer experience and expanded co-op gameplay,” Aspyr adds.
