Today, BlackBerry made available for download the gold flavor of its BlackBerry 10.1 Native SDK, providing application developers with new features and capabilities for the building of software for the platform.

According to BlackBerry, the new flavor of the Native SDK arrives with support for both BlackBerry Z10 and BlackBerry Q10 smartphones.

In addition to offering support for keyboard devices, the new flavor of the SDK also brings along key listeners (to handle any key press that produces a character), along with custom picker controls, and text filters and validators.

Developers who will download and install the SDK will also be able to come up with their own key shortcuts and system shortcuts, it seems. The full release notes for the BlackBerry 10.1 Gold SDK can be found on this page at BlackBerry.
