Today, Australian wireless carrier Telstra announced the availability of the new BlackBerry Z10 smartphone on its online store, and also unveiled that the white flavor of the new mobile phone can be purchased exclusively on its network for the next several months.

The smartphone is available at the wireless carrier with a price tag of $67 per month, which would translate into a minimum cost of $1,608 “after MRO Bonus 24 month term” (with $600 worth of calls and MMS messages, unlimited texts and 1GB of data).

The BlackBerry Z10 smartphone arrives on shelves with the new BlackBerry 10 operating system loaded on top, being capable of providing users with a brand new experience when compared to the previous platform releases from BlackBerry.

Some of the main enhancements in this OS include BlackBerry Hub, to keep social media and calendar notifications together, the new BlackBerry Keyboard, BBM with Video calling, and more.

Additionally, the handset features upgraded hardware over the old BlackBerry smartphones, such as a 4.2-inch multi-touch LCD display that can deliver a 1280 x 768 pixels resolution, and a 1.5GHz dual-core processor inside.

The specs list of this smartphone also includes 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal memory, microSD memory card slot, and an 8-megapixel photo snapper on the back, with support for full HD video recording and with a Time Shift mode.

BlackBerry Z10 also sports a front camera for video calling, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, NFC, GPS receiver, the usual set of sensors, and a battery that should be able to deliver up to 600 minutes of talk time, or up to 285 hours of standby time.

The new BlackBerry Z10 smartphone can be seen on this page on Telstra’s website both in Black and White colors. The latter, however, will be available exclusively on this wireless carrier only until June 26 this year, when other operators in Australia might also launch it.
