The Android 4.4.1 update is being progressively being rolled out and the Nexus 5 has been among the first devices to get it.

But if you own a Nexus 7 tablet, do not worry, you’re be getting some Android 4.4.1 love as well. So far only the Nexus 7 2013 LTE edition is receiving the much wanted treatment, but the builds for the other variants should be popping along soon.

So if you don’t want to wait a few days to automatically get the OTA update for your LTE tablet (not the Wi-Fi version), you can download the new build right now.

What will the new Android 4.4.1 bring? Apparently, it will improve camera abilities. Also, not so long ago, but a few days ago we reported that Nexus 7 tablets with Android KitKat 4.4 were experiencing issues in the video playback department, so the new update might bring the much needed improvement.

Note that, in order to flash the new build, you will need to have Android SDK installed, as it includes the latest adb and fastboot, used for flashing. A microUSB cable will also come in-handy when you’ll want to execute adb sideload or fastboot flash.

If you plan to download the 52.8MB OTA zip directly on your device and flash from recovery, you won’t be needing a USB cable.
