14 DAY TRIAL // Microsoft is offering an impressive collection of free themes featuring Bing content, to customers running the latest iteration of its operating system. There are no less than four Bing’s Beat theme for Windows 7 as well as an additional themepack that the Redmond company released after it held a photography contest designed to celebrate earth day. All five releases are available for download free of charge via the Windows Personalization Gallery.
The first three Bing's Best themes for Windows 7 contain imagery that was also used for the background images on the home page of the software giant’s search/decisions engine. The content is extremely diversified and offers a range of excellent wallpapers. Some of the best images that have been used as the default wallpaper on Bing.com were packaged into the theme packs, and delivered free of charge for Windows 7 users.
The Windows 7 Bing Earth Day student photo contest theme was the first exception to the way Microsoft made Bing-related personalization content for Windows 7 available to users. This particular theme offered Windows 7 customers a chance to have the best photos of the Bing Earth Day student photo contest as their desktop backgrounds. It certainly represented a shift in the manner in which Microsoft had offered Bing themes until that point in time.
The last theme published to the Windows Personalization Gallery involves content from Japan. Microsoft recently removed the Beta tag from the Japanese flavor of Bing, and celebrated, among other moves, with a new theme focused on Nippon imagery.
Users will be able to download all the Bing themes for Windows 7 via the download links at the bottom of this article. Remember, archivers can be used to extract the wallpapers from within the themepack file, for those that are running older editions of Windows.
