14 DAY TRIAL // Several of Adobe's image editing and processing products have been updated. Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 3.3 is out, along with an updated Camera Raw 6.3 plugin and DNG Converter 6.3. Its flagship Adobe Photoshop CS5 was also updated. The patches bring bug fixes and introduce support for more cameras.
Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 3.3 adds support for Canon PowerShot 95, Nikon D7000 and Olympus E-5, new cameras introduced in the past few months.
The update also fixes a number of issues introduced with Lightroom 3.0. A comprehensive list of bugs resolved in the latest update can be found here (PDF).
Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 3.0 was released in June, a couple of months after the Creative Suite 5 was launched. Among the new features, Adobe listed improved noise-reduction capabilities. The company said that even high-ISO images could be restored and given a more natural look.
Lightroom 3.0 also introduced a new lens correction tool. The tool fixes most of the common type of lens errors like geometric distortion, chromatic aberration and vignetting.
The Camera Raw 6.3 plugin and Adobe DNG Converter 6.3 include support for a number of new cameras. More details about the fixes in Camera Raw 6.3 can be found here (PDF).
The plugin enables users to import RAW images from a number of cameras in Photoshop CS5 or convert them into a standard format. The DNG Converter enables them to save their files in Adobe's own RAW format.
The full list of new cameras supported is: Canon PowerShot G12, Canon PowerShot S95, Nikon D7000, Nikon Coolpix P7000, Nikon D3100, Olympus E-5, Panasonic DMC-GF2, Panasonic DMC-GH2, Pentax K-5, Pentax K-r, Samsung NX100, Samsung TL350 (WB2000), Sony A560 and Sony A580.
