14 DAY TRIAL // He’s 51 and she’s only 16. Doug Hutchison and Courtney Stodden are now husband and wife (with her parents’ consent and blessing), and, perfectly aware of the publicity they get from their December-May union, shopping an idea for their own reality show.
After appearing on GMA to talk about how they met, fell in love and got married, the disgusting duo (as many a voice online describes them) also did an interview with E! News, in a bid to show the world that real love knows no boundaries, they say.
Their answers are the same as in the previous interview: they met through a common friend as Courtney was looking for a mentor for her acting career, were virtual friends first and then, when they fell in love, started to talk about the possibility of marriage.
As the video below will confirm, they insist they did not have relations until they were married, and that their love is so strong it’s bound to tear down any obstacle the world at large may set in their path.
Nevertheless, Hutchison doesn’t deny that the controversial marriage did help his career, thus fuelling rumors that it could be just a sham so that they can land a reality show and, from here on, built careers in a showbiz.
“I believe there’s one rule in Hollywood, and that’s that there are no rules. I’ve been courted by producers, directors, agents... I don’t think it’s been a career killer,” he says.
In the previous interview, he said that even his agent had dropped him when he heard what he’d done. As it happens, he was only thinking about the love of his life, the actor says.
“Courtney is more important to me than my career. That’s all there is to it,” he says.
As for claims that his 16-year-old wife is as fake as it gets and that she’s had extensive plastic surgery done, that’s a lie, the “Green Mile” star fights back.
“A lot of the critics are saying that Courtney is a fake. That she’s a Barbie doll, fake [breasts], fake lips, fake nose, fake hair – but God was her only plastic surgeon,” Hutchison says.
“I was born this way out of the womb. Like, hello world!” Stodden chimes in.
