After rolling out Dota 2 patch 6.84 with a series of big changes for the game, Valve has just unleashed the digital compendium for The International 5 tournament that's set to take place in August. Fans of the game can buy it, contribute to the prize pool, and earn all sorts of rewards for their efforts.

Dota 2 just saw its biggest patch this year appear a few hours ago, in the form of gameplay update 6.84, which brings a suite of changes to the core mechanics, balance tweaks to most of the 100+ heroes, and a series of new items.

All these changes are available right now, so that professional teams and fans can get excited about the game ahead of its biggest tournament ever in August - The International 5.

Dota 2 The International 5 Compendium is now live

Just like last year, Dota 2 fans can buy a special digital compendium from the in-game store and unlock a series of rewards, while contributing to the prize pool of the actual competition, according to the official website.

First up, the actual compendium costs 9.99 USD or 9.29 EUR, for a regular version, but those eager to get as many rewards as possible can get a direct level 50 compendium for 26.99 USD or 24.89 EUR. 25% of each transaction goes directly to the prize pool of The International 5.

Considering last year's prize increased thanks to compendium sales to over 10 million USD (8.8 million EUR), Valve has already presented stretch goals for reaching up to 15 million USD (13.3 million EUR). These include new rewards like Immortal treasures, mouse cursors, emoticons, loading screens, effigies, votes for the next Arcana set or the All Star game, a new announcer pack, and much more.

Besides knowing that you're contributing to The International 5 while earning various rewards, compendium owners also get access to a special set of challenges that give them digital coins upon completion. These coins are used to upgrade your compendium and unlock even more rewards.

If you don't feel like completing the challenges, you can straight up buy compendium coins from Valve.

The International 2015 takes place between August 3 and August 8 in Seattle, USA.
