Before and immediately after the Presidential Elections, Donald Trump made a lot of ruckus by constantly picking on Barack Obama through whatever channel available to him, be it the written press or YouTube or even Twitter. Even his kids have had enough of it, according to a new report.

In light of their father’s public statements and the ridicule they drew, Eric, Donald Jr. and Ivanka held counsel and agreed an intervention of sorts must be staged to get him to understand he was making a fool of himself.

Said and done, the New York Daily News writes.

“The three of them met and went to see their dad in his Fifth Ave. office. They showed a lot of respect, but told him he’s worked too long and too hard to build up the reputation he has,” an insider says for the publication.

The meeting reportedly took place a little over a month ago, but Trump’s reaction to it remains unknown.

His children, though, made an effort to make him see he was tossing all his credibility away by bashing the President and speaking out on issues that did not concern him in the least (like Kristen Stewart cheating on Robert Pattinson, for instance).

“They understand completely he’s always been outspoken and that he likes attention, but this is too much,” the insider says.

“Kids said they know it’s not helping. They told him you can’t throw this all away on this nonsense. They want their dad to get respect and then the whole family does well,” says the same source.

Contacted for comment, The Donald was not immediately available. However, a publicist for him said that the meeting “never happened.”

As we also reported on various occasions, Trump made a lot of headlines in the past couple of months, drawing both ridicule and support, but mostly the former.
