Cloud security management solutions provider Dome9 has released Dome9 Clarity, a security visualization tool that’s designed to help Amazon Web Services (AWS) users with discovering misconfigurations, resolving security issues and streamlining compliance processes.

Dome9 Clarity provides IT and security teams with a detailed picture of their allowed traffic paths within Amazon EC2 and Amazon Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) security configurations. It also enables them to easily implement changes when needed.

“You can think of Dome9 Clarity as Street View for AWS cloud security,” noted Zohar Alon, CEO and co-founder of Dome9. “By adopting battle proven security management methodologies to the AWS cloud, we were able to dramatically increase our users' level of confidence in their security configurations and setup.”

Clarity can increase customers’ confidence in their AWS security architecture by offering them detailed information that can be used for reviewing, planning and executing changes.

It also enhances the building and maintaining of AWS security groups to make sure they’re in line with business oriented application tiers.

As far as compliance and auditing are concerned, the process is streamlined and enhanced by enabling transparency and control over security group resources and data flows.

To speed up the detection of security misconfigurations, Clarity highlights authorized data flows and provides a big picture on security group connectivity.

“At Ice.com we use the full advantage of the AWS cloud to offer a secure shopping experience. Dome9 allows us to manage our cloud security and access policy to better meet our PCI requirements. With Clarity we can also get visual confirmation our infrastructure is protected,” said Ori Kerret, director of IT at ICE.COM.

Dome9 Clarity is available for free as part of the company’s SaaS offering for AWS users.
