About a week ago, one dog in Russia lost his mate. The latter was hit by a car while trying to cross the road, and died immediately.

However, her mate refused to let go of his loved one, and tried several times to wake her up by touching her with his paws.

Seeing how this had no effect, the dog eventually decided to drag the body off the road and took it to what he considered to be a safer location.

Ever since, he has been lying by her side, hoping that she will eventually wake up.

Locals say that, during nighttime, the dog even tries to keep its mate warm by lying very close to her. Because of this, they eventually named them Romeo and Juliet.

”It’s very sad. He won’t let anyone near her and he keeps trying to warm her up with his own body,” one villager told members of the press.

The incident occurred near Filippovka, a village in Russia.
