76-year-old Herbert Schutz came fairly close to death after having an accident on his farm in New South Wales and ending up pinned under his car.

Despite his not being rescued for four days, Herbert Schutz has managed to survive with the help of his dog, Boydy.

According to Daily Mail, Boydy refused to leave its owner's side and kept him warm by cuddling next to him.

When the man finally got rescued, it was discovered that he had fractured his skull and his hips. He had also dislocated one of his shoulders.

One of Eric Schutz' neighbors, Mr. Merritt, says that the dog even made it easier for the rescuers to locate the 76-year-old man.

“We saw the car and that no one was in it. Then his dog ran around the front of the car and then we heard him call for the dog. That’s when we found him,” Mr. Merritt reportedly stated.

Eric Schutz currently finds himself in a serious condition, yet doctors say that he is conscious and lucid.
