Looks like Capcom is planning to develop another Street Fighter movie. The word was spread by Caiety website reporting that the final product will come out in a few years' time.

Presumably, the movie will be created as a result of a joint venture between Hyde Park and Capcom. The movie will focus on the most popular female character in the game, the Chinese Chun Li, but no other information about the movie was revealed.

This Street Fighter movie, if it will see the light of day, is the second one in the series, after the 1994 fiasco, featuring "universal soldier" Jean-Claude Van Damme. As the Street Fighter franchise will celebrate 20 years in 2008, the target release date was also set for 2008. The original Street Fighter movie also featured actress/singer Kylie Minogue and the UK representative, Cammy.

The first game in the Street Fighter series was released back in 1987, and was considered to be quite controversial for that time. A series of combatants from around the world were selected, each possessing special abilities. The most famous characters in the game are Ken-USA representative and Ryu-Japan representative.
