Lindsay Lohan is now enlisted in a court-mandated drug rehabilitation program at the prestigious Betty Ford Clinic but, until just now, she got to keep taking Adderall, which she’s been on for years because of ADHD.

As we also reported earlier this month, staff at Betty Ford was considering the possibility that Lindsay doesn’t really need the drug, so an evaluation was pending.

It’s been completed now, with doctors ruling that Lindsay can do fine either off the drug or with a milder version of it, TMZ reports.

“Sources close to Lindsay tell TMZ, doctors at the rehab center evaluated Lindsay this week and decided she does NOT need her Addy pills, despite Lindsay's claims she suffers from ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder),” the e-zine writes.

“We're told Betty Ford's doctors almost NEVER give anyone over the age of 15 the powerful drug, because the docs believe there are plenty of substitute meds for ADHD that do the trick without the addictive qualities inherent in the drug,” says the report.

Doctors also took into consideration the fact that many “Hollywood types,” especially women, take Adderall because it suppresses the appetite and thus helps them keep their weight under control.

However, the report mentions, Lindsay is hell-bent on getting out of Betty Ford if they cut her off her drugs.

“This sets up yet another crisis, because it seems inconceivable Judge Jim Dabney and prosecutors would ignore the Betty Ford doctors and trump their diagnosis by letting Lindsay make a move,” TMZ explains.

In a recent interview with Piers Morgan, Lohan admitted to being on Adderall for years, but also to taking tranquilizer Trazodone on certain occasions, like when she’s jet-lagged and can’t sleep.

She also insisted she didn’t have a drug or an alcohol problem but, after the piece came out, Morgan sheepishly told a mag that she was definitely lying.
