While we don't really see while a Harley Davidson owner would attach an iPhone or iPod to their iconic bike (we imagine them to be way too hardcore for that), it seems that a company called Hell's Foundry has come up with a device meant to do just that, namely the DashLink Docking Console for iPhone and iPod touch. As the company informs us, the DashLink integrates a complete docking station for iPhone and iPod touch into a replacement fuel tank console for one's Harley Davidson, the device providing the basic functionality users have come to expect from such solutions, including here the possibility to charge the device from Apple while connected. Other features include a self-sensing on/off circuit to detect when a device is present, as well as an audio out circuit using line-level output, volume up/down control being available through stock handlebar controls (only on FLH/FLT models). And since we've reached the topic regarding the range of compatible bikes, it's quite important to mention that the DashLink from Hell's Foundries has been designed to work with Harley-Davidson 1996 and newer FLHT/FLTR & FLHR models. Another important element worth mentioning here is the fact that the DashLink console has been designed with drainage solutions that route liquid under and away from device and connector, keeping it safe at all times (which is not exactly an easy task, given the fact that bikes to tend to spend a lot of time in the rain. The DashLink Harley Davidson iPhone docking station from Hell's Foundries will be available in Chrome Plate, Gloss Black or Carbon Fiber Finish versions and can be pre-ordered as we speak for around 400 US dollars, which is far from what we'd call affordable, even if we're talking about an aftermarket accessory targeting a family motorcycle that are very expensive right out from the factory.
