The game might also get content based on Marvel comics

Disney Infinity, the toy and video game mix that was launched last year, includes a very rare unlockable that allows gamers to get access and then wield a lightsaber, which seems to add to rumors that more Star Wars content will be added to the title in 2014.

In order to get access to the exclusive unlockable, gamers need to collect every toy that was released for the title, including the very recent Phineas and Perry figurines.

Once they do that, they can go to the in-game Hall of Heroes and receive their Star Wars lightsaber, which can be used by any of the characters they own.

The development team has not given any details on why they’ve decided to offer such an unlockable.

The fan base has been waiting to hear about rumored expansions that are supposed to add both Star Wars and Marvel comics content to the game.

Both universes are currently owned by Disney, but it might be hard to reconcile the unique nature of Infinity with the types of powers and abilities that Darth Vader or Iron Man have.

Disney has said that it has long-term plans for its toy and video game mix, but has not offered any hints on whether it plans to deliver a series or expansions or true sequels.

Disney Infinity’s main rival, Skylanders from Activision, is also set to get access to a new expansion this year, but the company is not offering any details on it because it fears the competition might copy its core ideas.

After LucasArts was bought by Disney, the company announced that it was entering into a ten-year agreement with Electronic Arts for the Star Wars franchise and we already know that studios including BioWare, DICE and Visceral are working on titles at the moment.
