14 DAY TRIAL // Disney Infinity is shaping up to be as important as the new movie for the most dedicated fans of Star Wars, and the development team working on the game is ready to deliver more information on the way the characters from the Rebels animated series will be portrayed.
Kanan Jarrus, Ezra Bridger, Sabine Wren and Zeb Orrelios will be available for all interested players and each come complete with a unique set of powers and personalities.
Disney says that Ezra Bridger will have a custom lightsaber that allows him to perform some impressive tricks, while Sabine Wren will use stealth to move into position and to blow up targets while also using twin blasters to take out enemies.
Zeb Orrelios is focused on brawling and can also deploy his bio-rifle, and Kanan Jarrus is a capable Jedi who can use both lightsaber and blaster to take out Galactic Empire enemies.
A second season for Star Wars Rebels will be launched on June 20.
Hez Chorba, a brand manager at the company, is quoted by the official Star Wars site stating, "It’s an important part of the saga and our entire team is proud of the stories being told in the series. That’s when we got to, 'We need these characters'. The Star Wars Rebels characters that are making the jump to Disney Infinity action-figure form include Jedi-with-a-secret-past Kanan, Jedi-to-be Ezra, hot-headed alien Zeb, and explosives expert/graffiti artist Sabine."
Disney Infinity 3.0 will also include original and second trilogy characters
The development team has been careful to infuse both sets of figurines with special powers and fighting styles that reflect their personalities, and gamers will be able to choose which ones they like best as a starting set.
Disney Infinity is also getting characters based on Inside Out and on the Avengers before the end of the year.
The 3.0 version of the experience is designed to make big tweaks to the combat and the movement systems and to offer gamers more tweaks than ever before.
The game will have to deal with competition from Skylanders SuperChargers, which will focus on vehicle action, and the all-new LEGO Dimensions, a title that will launch with a wide variety of characters and a lot of choices for customized content.
