EDGE Tech Corporation announced a new flash drive last week. The company is known as a leading supplier of computer memory upgrades, flash cards, flash drives, external hard drives, and other experience-enhancing tech.

Their new memory stick is called, err, the DiskGo Secure Flash Drive Enhanced for ReadyBoost (phew). To cut things short a bit, let's call it DiskGo. Apparently, the drive is designed to be compatible with Windows Vista's ReadyBoost "appetite for RAM" (this reminds me of the advertising hype in which Samsung said they will come up with Windows Vista compatible LDCs).

ReadyBoost offers some interesting features though. First, EDGE Tech Corp are the first to offer secure, password protected encryption software that is compatible with, well, Vista ReadyBoost of course. The compatible software comes in the form of a Vista-compatible Cryptoarchiver software which allows you to choose between 448 bit Blowfish encryption and the government standard AES 256 bit encryption to protect valuable data. Then there's the almost usual high-speed NAND technology for quick transfers/uploads and the plug and play feature.

The main specs include:

-Measures 3 x 0.75 x 0.25 inches -Weighs 0.03 lbs -Transfer rate up to 480 Mb/s -USB powered- no external supply needed

The ReadyBoost flash drive comes in a sleek swivel chrome housing and it's available in 1GB, 2GB, and 4 GB capacities that sell for $49,95, $69,95, and $129,95 respectively. The extras include WinEncrypt software, a keychain grommet, and a lanyard. The device comes with lifetime warranty and toll-free technical support.
