A senior mistakenly defacing a fresco in Spain in an attempt to clean it has made a name for herself via the media and she has now opened her own exhibition. Her works are on display until August 24.

According to the Telegraph, Cecilia Gimenez of Borja will also be getting 49 percent of all earnings from merchandise branded with the image of her unplanned creation, “Monkey Jesus.” Councillor Juan Maria Ojeda informs that the rest of the money is going to the town council.

As I wrote, Gimenez basically ruined a 19th century Spanish fresco titled “Ecce Homo” (“Behold the Man”) by Elias Garcia Martinez.

However, the incident drew a viral buzz and the small church housing the fresco has been visited by 40,000 visitors since then.
