14 DAY TRIAL // Discovery Communications has launched Ultimate Sharks, an iPad app filed under Books in the iTunes App Store. A co-viewing Shark Week Live app, designed to "enhance your enjoyment of the Shark Week TV shows" on the Discovery Channel, is also available as a free download.
“Ultimate Sharks immerses you in the predatory world of the ocean’s deadliest sharks – as only Discovery can,” reads the description.
Ultimate Sharks has been designed specifically for the big 9.7-inch screen of the iPad, to allow users to “experience interactive 3D sharks, hours of exclusive HD video, and hundreds of stunning high-resolution photos.”

As for Shark Week Live, this is a co-viewing app that works not only with the iPad, but also with iPhone and iPod touch.
As its name implies, the app has been tailored to enhance the user’s enjoyment of the popular Shark Week TV shows on the Discovery Channel.
iDevice owners can activate the app while they’re watching Shark Week (July 31st - August 5th on the Discovery Channel) and they are promised a bunch of exclusive behind-the-scenes content that gets synchronized to the TV broadcast.
Users can also play the Shark Week LIVE trivia game and compete in real-time against other viewers.
