14 DAY TRIAL // After plenty of vague statements and teasers, Codemasters confirms that the next title in the Dirt series is called Dirt Rally, and more importantly, it's already available on PC via Steam Early Access so that the community can have an impact on the final stages of its development.
Codemasters' recent racing games haven't exactly delivered the quality fans expected, especially with Grid 2, which got so much feedback from fans that the studio postponed its plans and released Grid Autosport as an apology and as an example of how things should have been for the previous game.
Dirt Rally is now available on PC via Early Access
Now, after confirming new games like F1 2015 or Overlord: Fellowship of Evil, the UK-based studio reveals its next title in the rally racing series Dirt, in the form of the simply titled Dirt Rally.
The new game promises to deliver a realistic rally experience and it's already available on PC via Steam Early Access, so that fans have an impact on its development and ensure that the final version lives up to all expectations.
"We want to make sure we get this right," the studio says on its blog. "You’ve been asking us for a game that is pure rally with none of the fluff, one that has more stages, longer stages and repairs in between stages. You’ve told us how you want your own team, to be able to set the car up how you want and to feel like you own the car you’re driving. We want to deliver that game."
Lots of things are included
Even if Dirt Rally is now available as a Steam Early Access game, it brings quite a lot of content to justify its 31.49 USD / 27 EUR price tag.
These include 17 cars, 36 stages, a new physics model for realistic handling, asynchronous challenges, team management, or support for racing leagues with friends.
Over the next few months, Codemasters pledges to bring new cars, tracks, game modes, and other features depending on the feedback from the community.
