Dress your iPhone in expensive calf leather

There are lots of cases made for Apple's iPhone and the latest one comes from Christian Dior, the famous French fashion designer. Being created by such a prestigious name, this new iPhone case is obviously expensive, retailing at about 290 Euros ($450) - more than double when compared to the price that AT&T will be selling the new iPhone 3G for, starting July 11.

Named "Dior Homme iPhone Holder", the case is made from calf leather and it's all painted in black. Unlike other cases, this one is actually more like a pouch and it allows you to completely hide your iPhone inside it.

Obviously targeted for those iPhone owners who have large bank accounts, the new Dior case will allow them to stand-out without having to buy a luxury edition of Apple's handset. Or, if they already own such an iPhone, the Dior case is probably a must-have accessory.

For those on a budget, though, there are countless cheaper options. For example, there's the Chocolate-like Homade case, which only costs $29. Sure, your iPhone won't look in it as in a Dior case, but you'll save a lot of money.

The Homme seems to be made for the first-generation iPhone, but there's no reason for it not to be compatible with the new iPhone 3G too, since the latter is only a bit bigger than the first one.

Christian Dior is not at the first collaboration with the mobile world, as the company actually came up with its own mobile phone. The handset is called "My Dior", it was made in collaboration with ModeLabs and it features a clamshell form factor, a touchscreen display, a 2 Megapixel photo camera, Music player and other multimedia goodies. Needless to say, My Dior is awfully expensive, its retail price starting at about $5000.
