Actress Lindsay Lohan made her big fashion debut at the Paris Fashion Week, as Ungaro unveiled the first collection where she was listed as an artistic advisor. Her 15-year-old sister, Ali, seems equally fascinated by all things fashion, having been snapped on several occasions accompanying her sister to such shows. Now, their mother too is about to take her first step in the industry by launching a shoe collection, the New York Daily News says.

The official announcement has not yet been made, but it’s a given that Dina will take fashion by surprise no later than Mother’s Day. She will not personally design the shoes that will feature in Shoe-han, the new line, but she will have the final say in the creative process. In other words, Dina’s contribution will be somewhere halfway between endorsing and actually designing, fashion insiders say.

“The forthcoming, and very affordable, collection will be known as Shoe-han. No, this is not a joke. The shoes represents a collaboration between one of the world’s most controversial stage mothers and a Long Island-based company called ‘I Love My Shoes.’” the NY Daily News writes. Apparently, the celebrity connection will not be all that Shoe-han will have as an ally, as all items in it will be priced under $100. What with the Mother’s Day release date, the collection is poised to become a winner almost instantly.

“She will do a radio and TV commercial and she will sit in on the casting call to find two or three hot girls we need for the commercial. She’ll definitely have a major influence in which direction it will go. She’s definitely got a good eye and she’s got it together. She may not be followed as a fashionista but if the shoes are designed right and priced under $100... they will sell.” company founder and President Robert Yeganeh tells the media about the collaboration with Dina Lohan.

However, just like the case of Lindsay with Ungaro, this recently announced partnership might also be nothing more than just going with a controversial and media-loving figure to boost a public profile. So far, Ungaro has done excellently, even if the first line under Lindsay’s guidance has proved close to a disaster.
