Intel's new six-core processors have only recently made their formal debut, but they have already been adopted by a significant number of hardware and PC makers. The Gulftown especially has been set up as an option for a variety of gaming systems, including Digital Storm's very own Black|OPS. The PC maker, however, seems to have had even more in store, having now added another system to its product offer, namely the DAVINCI workstation.

The DAVINCI is meant for digital content creation and, thus, comes with top-level professional hardware. The system can run on an Intel Core i7 processor or either one or two Xeon chips, which are backed up by up to 24GB DDR3 and up to 24TB of storage space. Also, in order to make sure that design tasks can be easily carried out in high quality, the workstation features NVIDIA Quadro FX graphics. Furthermore, the DAVINCI boasts a DVD writer or a Blu-ray drive and is fueled by a power supply with a maximum output of 1500W.

"The philosophy behind DAVINCI is simple: engineer a workstation that completely maximizes application performance so that creative professionals can accelerate their productivity," Rajeev Kuruppu, Digital Storm's director of Product Development, commented. "Thanks to Nvidia's and Intel's most powerful components to date, our DAVINCI workstations will be fully optimized for the forthcoming release of Adobe's Creative Suite 5."

To suit the needs and tastes of as many consumers and business users as possible, Digital Storm's workstation can run both the Windows XP and the Windows 7 operating system. In either case, however, the system will be able to fully utilize the Intel Hyper Threading and Turbo Boost technologies, as well as the NVIDIA CUDA, for excellent multitasking and, thus, high productivity and performance.

Eager to make the most of the new processors from the Santa Clara chip giant, Digital Storm's new DAVINCI workstation has already been made available at a price of $2,952. Those interested in further information may check the official product page.
